Generative AI ‒ tremendous potential for automation
and new applications in personalized medicine

Generative Artificial Intelligence, or GenAI, is characterized as an AI model that not only responds to existing data but also has the capability to generate novel data or content. Through the analysis of training sets, these models can identify patterns and use this knowledge to create new data. This form of AI is especially advantageous and prominent in the realms of image and text generation. We actively support and contribute to this transformative advancement. 
The applications of GenAI extend to diverse fields such as computer-generated implants, customized tool models, or the reconstruction of resected bones derived from CT scans. The output is automatically transformed into a CAD mode. In comparison to standard AI algorithms, the automation of planning processes can be markedly enhanced with the integration of Gen AI. This results in a streamlined workflow, enabling a direct progression from imaging to the development of a finalized product plan. 
Embracing GenAI represents a crucial step towards efficiency and innovation in various domains. At Chimaera, we are already using Generative AI in orthopedics and dentistry to improve the quality of plans and personalized implants.
